Performs patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate. Educates patients and documents patient interactions. Practices infection control. Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care.
Will help support extended hours (i.e. shifts starting at 10AM)
Experience/Specialized Skills: Prefer minimum one year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology. Additional requirements vary according to specialty and duties performed in business unit.
Required Certification/Registration: Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred. Current BLS card via American Heart Association required.
Required Education/Course(s)/Training: Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred.
