Responsible for daily patient care and flow of the clinical activities. Position requires the understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care as well as medical terminology. Knowledge of medical instrumentation and its proper care and usage needed. Ability to assess common safety hazards and take precautions to establish a safe work environment required. Ability to communicate with patients, co-workers, supervisors and physicians is critical. Must be knowledgeable in all areas of the office and understand the need for efficient use of time. As a technician you must be able to navigate through NextGen (practice management system) as well as EHR (Electronic Health Record) and Microsoft outlook.
