Chief of Cardiology
at the Northport VAMC
The Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center, located on the beautiful north shore of Long Island, NY, is recruiting a Chief for the Section of Cardiology. The person recruited should qualify for a faculty appointment at Stony Brook Medicine - Northport’s medical school affiliate - at the academic rank of Associate or Professor of Medicine level. Primary responsibilities will be at the Northport VA Medical Center. The Northport cardiology division is developing a robust program in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology.
Required: Candidates must have a current, unrestricted license in any state and be U.S. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. The successful applicant will possess a strong clinical reputation with a research publication and/or funding track record. We will consider interventional and non-interventional cardiology trained candidates. U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include overseeing the clinical care delivered, promoting scholarship, supporting training, developing faculty and trainees, developing local clinical pathways and outcome measures to improve the quality of care for the cardiology patients. The individual will be expected to provide care to patients with a broad range of cardiac conditions.
